P3 Assembly

I hope you enjoyed P3´s assembly. I have enclosed some photographs for you to look at.

The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part and were absolutely fantastic! Well done!!

Maria was a fantastic narrator!

Nuria was great as Olga!

It was very windy, Miss Fiona had to hold the computer screen!!

Welcome back to the Spring Term. I wish you a very happy new year. I hope you had a nice holiday and

got lots of presents from Santa and The Three Kings.

I have sent out a list of this term´s spellings for you to keep.

P3´s assembly is now on 30th January

at 2.00pm. I have written in the homework diaries what costumes the children need. The children have

settled in well and are working very hard.

P2 and P3 Trip to Las Palmas

The trip to the Museo Canario was a big success. The children thoroughly enjoyed visiting the museum and were able to make to make comparisons between Gran Canaria in the past and Ancient Egypt in the past. The children made observations about farming, skeletons and mummification, it was an excellent opportunity for the children to consolidate their learning in our Science and History topics.

We sketched the cathedral.

There were lots of lovely fish at Parque Doramis!!

The gardens were beautiful!!

We looked at different types of pottery in the Museo Canario.

This is a wooden coffin. We compared it to an Egyptian Sarcophagus.

P2 had lots of fun too!!!!

P3 by the fountain!!

The children had a lovely day out and found out lots of information about Las Palmas. The children enjoyed a picnic in Parque Doramis. We collected lots of leaves and flower petals which we will be using to make a collage later this week!!

I hope that you all enjoyed the holiday yesterday. This week we are learning about the River Nile. We are looking at maps and ICT information. In PE this week we will be practising ball skills and will be using hockey sticks, basketballs and footballs to play a range of games and activities.

The children are working very hard in all subjects and I am very pleased with them!

We are enjoying P3. We like using the computers and doing lots of work. Ancient Egypt is very interesting!!

The children have settled down very well and are all working extremely hard.
This term we are studying the following topics:-
Science..........Moving and growing ......We have been looking at bones and skeletons..we have a model skeleton in the classroom called Fred!!

History..........Ancient Egypt..................We have been looking at artefacts, books and ICT information to help us to find out about food and farming, Ancient Egyptian houses, fashions, gods, mummies and pyramids!

Geography....Rivers........We have been looking at different rivers around the world. We have been finding
out about the key features of rivers.

Welcome Children and Parents to P3, My Name is Miss Claire and I will be your new teacher. We have some changes within the school this year, we have a new head teacher: Miss Claudia supported by the deputy head teacher Miss Paula. Please make sure you have all of your equipment ready for the start of term as this will make the first week easier for all of us. Reading will begin from the start of the first week. Lets work hard this year and we will suceed in whatever goals we set for ourselves.
